Former KISS Songwriter Stephen Coronel Arrested for Child Pornography

By Philip Cosores

Stephen Coronel, a former KISS-affiliated songwriter, has been arrested for five counts of child pornography after authorities traced images back to his computer, The Daily Mail reports.

Coronel, whom was a band member with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in their pre-KISS band, Wicked Lester, and whose songs were later used by KISS, is currently calling South Carolina his home, and saw sheriffs seize a number of electronic devices they claim hold evidence to his involvement in the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Beyond that, details are scarce at this time as to the exact nature of the crime and Coronel’s involvement.

Related: Gene Simmons Has No Sympathy for Drug Addicts, People with Depression: ‘I’m the Guy Who Says Jump!’

Coronel still holds his involvement with KISS as his major claim to fame, with The Daily Mail pointing out that he still refers to himself on Facebook as “KISS-Multi-Platinum Songwriter.”

His friendship with the KISS members isn’t a thing of the distant past, either, as just last year Coronel was recorded with Simmons practicing a secret handshake backstage at a show.

Among the songs credited to Coronel are “She” and “Goin’ Blind.”

Certainly more on this case as details emerge.
