'Fifty Shades Darker' Trailer Proves to Be More Twisted Than the Last One

With Valentine's Day about six weeks away, it only makes sense to see the latest sneak peak into the next installment in the Fifty Shades series. And the latest trailer for Fifty Shades Darker shows us that Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's relationship is much more complicated than trying to sort through their sexual desires. Between the women from Grey's past who reappear to the man who hopes to take Anastasia away from her man, there's definitely a lot more drama in this one. We also get to the closest thing we can of a music video for Zayn and Taylor Swift's single for the film, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever."

Fifty Shades Darker opens in theaters on February 10. But in the meantime, watch the trailer below.

Ed Sheeran Set to Release New Music This Year

Ed Sheeran's X was one of the best records that dropped in 2014. But that was then, and now the UK artist is ready to release new material. So on New Year's Day (January 1), he posted a teaser telling us to tune in on Friday (January 6) to find out about the new sounds.

Then on the days that followed, he has been posting more teasers. While we have no idea what the music sounds like just yet, we can guess, according to his previous album names, this one will follow that mathematical signature and will be named ÷.

And he also a small anecdote about an injury he had as a kid, which we could only guess could be a song lyric.

So be sure to tune in on Friday to find out more about what he's got coming in 2017!

Mark Hamill Eloquently Pays Tribute to His Princess and Ronda Rousey Returns for 48 Seconds

From all of the losses we've endured in the entertainment world to the rise of sociopolitical movements in the face of modern racial tensions and the uncertainty of the future of our country in the hands of a man with no experience in government policy, 2016 was a tough year. But as we enter 2017 timid yet hopeful, last year wasn't going to let us move on that easily. Here's what you missed over the New Year.

We'll Miss You, Carrie

To say that the world loved Carrie Fisher is an understatement. Most knew her best for her role as the feisty and iconic, bun-wearing Princess Leia Organa in in the Star Wars franchise, a role that inspired and fascinated millions for decades to come. Following her untimely passing on December 27th from a heart attack, friends, family and fans have all found various mediums of expression to articulate the unshakable sadness and their fondest memories of the actress.

The most recent and anticipated friend to speak out on Fisher’s vivacious personality was Mark Hamill. Luke Skywalker himself chose to partner with The Hollywood Reporter to submit his memories of the late actress in a beautifully written, first-person narrative. He says of Fisher:

“The lengths I would go to hear her laugh — there were no limits. I loved her and loved making her laugh. She would do these crazy things and make me do these crazy things, but I really don’t think they were crazy after all. In a way, it was a defense mechanism for her. She was so off the wall, she could use it as protection. Part of what was so poignant about her was that she was vulnerable, that there was this glimmer of a little girl that was so appealing and it roused the protective nature in my personality.”

Rousey's 48 Seconds of Fame

Batman v. Superman. Captain America v. Iron Man. Ronda Rousey v. Amanda Nunes. All highly anticipated rivalries of 2016. However, the most upsetting of the bouts was the one that didn’t involve fictitious superheroes (you’re off the hook for now, Zack Snyder). Friday night was supposed to be Rousey’s triumphant return to the Octagon for UFC 207 after her shocking defeat against Holly Holm at UFC 193 back in November of 2015, but the judoka and mixed martial artist found herself seeing stars instead of championship belts after her year-long hiatus. In just 48 seconds, Nunes took Rousey out with flurry of fists to the face, forcing the referee to end the match before Rousey sustained more injury.

Unlike Holm, Nunes was less than gracious when it came to her speeches and actions after her well-deserved victory. The Brazilian mixed martial artist was understandably upset, as the majority of the coverage leading up to the event was so heavily fixated on Rousey's return that the champion received barely any media attention. During her post-fight interview, she said:

“Now she's going to retire and she's going to go do movies, she already has a lot of money. In this division, we have a lot of talent. And now you guys have to look at these girls who are working hard and forget about Ronda Rousey."

Adding insult to literal injury, Nunes then took to her Twitter account to post a photoshopped image of her victory over Rousey. Ouch. While it’s awesome that she won such a monumental match, hopefully she’ll realize that a little humility goes a long way in the future.

Mariah's New Year's Nightmare

At least she can say that she held herself together better than Ashlee Simpson did during that ill-fated SNL performance. Mariah Carey took the stage in New York City's Times Square for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, but her music backtrack had other plans. Carey was obviously having technical difficulties from the start of the very first tune she performed, but it wasn't until the second song began that she told the audience she was unable to hear the music. She became unsure of where to sing her parts and where the backing vocals were coming in, which also messed up the timing of her choreography.

Being the experienced professional that she is, the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer eventually took it all in stride — literally. She tried — unenthusiastically — performing the dance routine as best as she could, all the while narrating what was going on. But the diva wasn’t going to let the performance ruin the start of 2017. She found the most fitting self-reaction gif of all time and used it to appropriately welcome in the New Year.

Top 5 Games to Play in January

It felt like 2016 was never going to end. Death, political turmoil and general unease defined the past 365 days, but gaming somehow came out the other end a bit shinier than before. A record amount of games were released last year, and a suite of new adventures awaits us in 2017, so let’s focus on the future, shall we? January is a little light, as most are, but a few huge sequels are lined up as well as the disc version of our favorite game of 2016!

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

This is a total oldie but goodie, as 2004’s Dragon Quest VIII is back again, but this time on the Nintendo 3DS. For a lot of people, this might be their first foray into the world of Japan’s greatest role-playing game franchise (the debate between this and Final Fantasy will rage for eons). For others, it’s a way to experience the cel-shaded goodness of the past on the go and in a new light, as this is a fully 3D game with updated graphics and new playable characters. If you have the appetite for 80+ hours of leveling, adventuring and upgrading, do not hesitate to add this absolute classic to your collection.

Gravity Rush 2

The first Gravity Rush was a rare treat, combining a stellar combat system with dazzling visuals and engrossing characters. Unfortunately for humanity, it came out on the PlayStation Vita, a system nobody owned and has been lost to annals of time and gaming misfires. Still, Sony was happy enough with its sales to see a full HD re-release of the first game and a sequel that should expand upon the original title with new characters, a huge environment and even better graphics. The style is very specific, and if anime girls and mystical ideas aren’t up your alley, maybe give this one a pass, but for those looking for something truly Japanese to pop into their PS4, this is the game for you.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

If you need us to explain the appeal of Resident Evil, we’ll just assume that the rock you’ve been sleeping under for 20 years is super comfortable. But RE is ditching the over-the-top combat, monsters and scenery and going back to their roots with a singular creepy mansion and an underpowered protagonist. A big shift in tone comes from the decision to go first-person, obviously inspired by the most successful horror experiences in the past few years, like P.T., Outlast, and Slender Man. Early reviews sound mostly positive and RE7 looks to be a pleasantly horrifying return to form for a series that has most certainly lost its way.

Yakuza 0

The Japanese hits keep on coming, as the Yakuza prequel many of us have been waiting for is finally on its way to the West. Yakuza shares a lot with other open-world realistic simulations like Shenmue and Grand Theft Auto, offering a ton of absurd side activities that can be completely bypassed or obsessively explored on your way to cracking skulls and beating down your opponents. Money is now the main factor in upgrading your character, bypassing the idea of experience points, meaning that some of these side activities — like playing pool or participating in fighting matches — can have a greater impact on your success in the game. Yakuza is a beloved series that rarely finds a huge audience in America, but this one looks to be the best and most refined of the bunch.

Hitman: The Complete First Season

Our favorite game of 2016 is getting a physical release, meaning all of you still willing to buy and own a disc will get to enjoy the most fun you can have with a controller. This Hitman package is truly all-encompassing, with all six episodes, every challenge, custom contract and bonus mission on the disc, including the new bonus mission, “Landslide,” which debuts the day this is released. PS4 owners get all of The Sarajevo Six exclusive missions while everyone else can enjoy a making of documentary and the awesome original soundtrack. Season Two will kick off sometime next year, and its content will be directly added to this version of the game, so be sure to have all the weapons, suits and items unlocked to better prepare yourself for some 2017 assassinations!
