Miranda Lambert Wins 3rd ACM Song of the Year Award in 5 Years for ‘Automatic’

By Kevin Rutherford

Miranda Lambert is becoming quite the force to be reckoned with when it comes to the ACM Awards’ Song of the Year honor.

Sunday night (April 19), Lambert scored the win for Song of the Year with her song “Automatic,” the titular track from her 2014 album that’s also nominated for Album of the Year.

And in doing so, the country singer has now won the award three of the last five years, dating back to 2011.

It dates back to 2011, when Lambert won for “The House That Built Me,” though the song was not written by Lambert, instead penned by Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin.

Then, in 2013, she won again for “Over You,” this time a track she co-wrote with her husband Blake Shelton.

In the case of “Automatic,” Lambert wrote the song with Natalie Hamby and Nicolle Galyon.

“Automatic” is also nominated for Single Record of the Year, though the winner has not yet been revealed. Get the full winners list here!
