Neil Young Debuts New Music with Willie Nelson’s Sons Live: Watch

By Ezra Marcus

Neil Young has been hard at work cooking up some new music, and he seems to be on the verge of sharing it with the world.

Last week he played a surprise show at SLO Brewery in San Luis Obispo and debuted a handful of new material. His band weren’t just a handful of nameless musicians, either: he was backed by Willie Nelson’s sons Lukas and Micah.

In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Young revealed that he is working on new material with them. Now it looks like some of that material is ready for the road: the tracklist for the how included 10 new songs.

If the titles given for some of the songs are any indication, it seems as if Young is taking these new tracks in a distinctly political direction. A few of the song titles, reported by Consequence Of Sound: “New Day for the Planet,” “Too Big to Fail,” “GMO-Starbucks”  and “Monsanto.”

A release timeframe, however, has not been revealed. Young released two albums in 2014: A Letter Home and Storytone.
