An aspiring actress (Emma Stone) meets an enticing jazz musician (Ryan Gosling), and romance ensues. Sure, the duo's upcoming film La La Land has a simple premise, but the film's buzz — and the exciting new trailer — makes this one greater than the sum of its parts. And it even features a cameo from John Legend.
Damien Chazelle, best known for Oscar nominee Whiplash, wrote and directed the film. And it's looking like La La Land may score him another Oscar nomination or two.
La La Land opens in theaters on December 9.
