Ben Affleck Drops Out of Directing ‘The Batman’ Movie

Ben Affleck has announced that he will not be directing The Batman after all.

Affleck remains on board to play the caped crusader in a standalone movie, but he and Warner Bros. are now seeing a new director.

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require.”

He added: “Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Affleck first played the caped crusader in Warner Bros’ Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice film and reprised the role briefly in Suicide Squad. He has been linked to a standalone Batman film since last year, but earlier this month he cast doubts on the project by saying it wasn’t “a set thing”.

There is no official release date for The Batman as yet, but its original target release date of 2018 is looking increasingly unlikely.

Affleck has said in the past tha tBatman’s nemesis in the film will be the DC Comics character Deathstroke. Deathstroke, an assassin with superhuman strength, speed and agility, first appeared in comic book form in 1980 but did not cross paths with Batman until a 1991 comic.

True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello was cast as Deathstroke last September.

Michael Jackson’s Daughter Paris Jackson Announces Acting Debut

Paris Jackson, daughter of the late Michael Jackson, is to make her acting debut this year.

The 18-year-old will appear in Star, a new US TV series set in the world of the music industry from Empire creator Lee Daniels.

According to Billboard, she’ll play an “intimidating social media guru” who “has an impact on the show’s lead characters”. The show’s cast includes Queen Latifah, Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell and Benjamin Bratt.

No air date for Paris Jackson’s first episode on Star has been announced yet.

AFP/Getty Images

Paris Jackson recently gave her first ever in-depth magazine interview and claimed that her father was murdered.

“He would drop hints about people being out to get him. And at some point he was like, ‘They’re gonna kill me one day’. It sounds like a total conspiracy theory and it sounds like bullshit, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was bullshit,” she said.

Paris Jackson has since responded to criticism from chat show host Wendy Williams for saying in the interview that she considers herself black.

Meanwhile, The Jacksons have announced a 50th anniversary show in the UK to take place this summer.

Dave Grohl, A Tribe Called Quest and Anderson .Paak to Perform Together at the 2017 Grammys

Dave Grohl, A Tribe Called Quest and Anderson .Paak will all perform together at the forthcoming Grammy Awards in LA.

The three artists will unite on stage as part of the awards ceremony at the Staples Center in LA on February 12. The Grammys have also confirmed that Daft Punk will return to the live stage for the 59th edition of the awards, where they’ll link up with recent collaborator The Weeknd to perform the latter’s ‘Starboy’ from his self-titled third studio album.

The unexpected supergroup of Grohl, ATCQ and .Paak, however, will certainly be a highlight of the night. While .Paak appeared as a guest vocalist on A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘final’ album, ‘We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service’, at the tail-end of last year, neither of the two artists have ever collaborated with the Foo Fighters frontman before. No details have emerged yet, though, regarding which songs the three artists will tackle on stage.

Among the other performers at this year’s Grammys will be Adele, Bruno Mars, Metallica and Alicia Keys. However, the likes of Kanye West, Drake and Justin Bieber will reportedly snub the awards entirely, citing their objections over the representation of this year’s nominees.

Future Thieves Will Steal Your Heart

Future Thieves are kind of like the millennial Kings of Leon, and not just because they sound alike. They’re both Southern, but disavow twangy guitars and lyrics about girls and trucks in favor of good ol’ rock & roll. (Or, if you prefer, alt rock.) Formed more than two years ago, the band is made up of Elliot Collett (vocals and rhythm guitar), Austin McCool (guitar), Nick Goss (drums), and Gianni Gibson (drums). After their debut album Horizon Line came out in 2015, the band has honed its chops at festivals such as Bonnaroo and Summerfest, and has toured throughout the country. In March, they’ll be showcasing their newest songs, featured in the recently released live album Live at Blue Rock at SXSW; beyond that is a European tour.

Collett tells Myspace about why they're releasing a live album, where their name came from and how Myspace changed his life. Hop to the next page to read the full interview.

Hometown: Wellington, Kentucky

Homebase: Nashville, Tennessee

How did you meet your bandmates and what made you want to play music together?

I met Austin and Nick while working at country club in Nashville. I met Gianni through some mutual friends in L.A. We all just left different bands and then got together to play one time. From there, we knew we had something special so we ran with it.

Why are you called Future Thieves?

The name Future Thieves sort of came out of no where and it seems like it's easy to remember. Not a whole lot of thought behind the name but we love it.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

I would have to say my musical influences are all the great stuff I hear today from bands just trying to do what we're doing but my main influence would probably be Ryan Adams. He's pretty much the reason I ever decided to start writing music.

Describe your music to someone who's never heard you before.

I usually just say give it a listen and see for yourself. It's free now a days isn't it?

How does living in Nashville influence your music?

Living in Nashville brings out the best in your musicianship. It's not a matter of trying to keep up with everyone else, it's just inspirational to have so many people around you who love and cherish music. I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere so I had music to keep me company.

Who would you love to collaborate with?

It would be a dream to collaborate with many people. If I had to choose it would probably be someone like Anderson Paak or someone like that whose music is totally different from ours that we truly dig.

What's the craziest thing that’s a fan has ever done for you?

The craziest thing that's happened to us so far is probably someone getting a Horizon Line tattoo. Ha!

Why release a live album?

We love playing live. We wanted something for people to hear that can't make it out to a show and still get that energy that comes across from playing live.

I heard you’re working on another album of new music as well?

Our next studio album is being written now. We have a really cool thing going just trying to feel out and play what we love to hear back.

If you were a hashtag, what would you be?

#sothisisBirmingham

Do you have an awesome Myspace-related story as a musician?

I actually discovered Ryan Adams on someone else's profile in high school and that pretty much changed my life so yes, definitely a good Myspace story.

Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh Just Had Triplets

If you notice Pharrell Williams walking around with a little pep in his step, it's probably because he and his wife, Helen Lasichanh, welcomed some new additions to the family earlier this month. Helen gave birth to triplets, Vanity Fair confirmed.

Although a rep for the couple won't reveal the genders and names of the children, Helen and the babies are reportedly "happy and healthy." And now Rocket, Helen and Pharrell's eight-year-old son, will be playing big brother to his new siblings.

Despite the baby news, Pharrell has been having a busy few months. Not only did he walk in Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel fashion show in December, but he also became the first male spokesmodel for Chanel. He's also nominated for an Academy Award as a producer for Hidden Figures.

Pharrell has clearly got a lot on his plate, but we're sure he keeps his cool despite his hectic schedule.

Originally performed by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson in 1991, Ariana Grande and John Legend take the lead on the new version of the song. Vocal powerhouses themselves, the snippet we hear in the trailer shows a more delicate and almost quieter tone to their voices.

Big On Myspace: Where Are Myspace Stars Now?

Myspace captured a whole era in music history in mid-00s. That was the time when anything was possible. A pink-haired androgynous model could become a viral sensation (we’re looking at you, Jeffree Star); a DIY dream-pop singer could climb to No. 1 on the Billboard chart (hello, Owl City), all thanks to the support of an online community, long before the words selfie, emoji and snapchat were invented. Today we’re taking a look back at some of Myspace’s breakthrough music stars and seeing what they’re up to these days.

Owl City

A bedroom dream-pop producer-turned-global-phenomenon. That’s what every aspiring musician’s Myspace dreams were made of when they were uploading their DIY tracks onto their pages. Adam Young aka Owl City got to experience this dream coming true when he got noticed by the music big shots for his charming tunes and approachable personality. “Fireflies” was everyone’s profile song back in 2008, and then in 2012 Owl City had a wholesome party anthem with Carly Rae Jepsen called “Good Time,” but that was also his last proper hit. These days he’s blond, releases music under his real name and hosts various music competitions on his socials for like-minded aspiring musicians.

Lily Allen

Long before she released the sweetest FU-themed tune called, well, “Fuck You,” Lily Allen was already a hero for the outspoken youth thanks to her clever rhymes, LDN girl swag and overall bad-girl-next-door-appeal. All of that, topped with an aggressive Myspace strategy, gained her fame back in 2006, and in a blink of an eye she was topping UK charts, traveling the world and even hosting her own TV talk show.

Allen’s career has been a true roller coaster for the last decade — she tried quitting music, changing her stage name (and, naturally, her sonic palette has been all over the place), but never lost one thing that made her an original Myspace celebrity: she always stayed interesting. Since her last album came out in 2014, we think the new one is long overdue.

Sean Kingston

It’s easy to understand what the producers saw in Jamaica-based musician when they discovered him on Myspace. The guy could write, sing, rap and had an overall nice attitude. That resulted in the Motown-inspired banger “Beautiful Girls” that was inescapable in the summer of 2007 and several other hits.

Kingston is still active in music industry, whether he’s recording his own material or working with the likes of Zendaya, but it’s been four years since he released a proper album.

Hollywood Undead

As all the original Myspacers will tell you, the Californian rap rock band’s original name was The Kids and their initial claim to fame was a tune called “Hollywood”. The song got good response on Myspace and prompted the guys to properly launch a band in 2005.

It took them three more years to record their debut LP and so far they have four records under their belt that they toured around the globe. And yes, they’re still doing “the masks thing.”

Arctic Monkeys

English rockers like to point out that they didn’t even know what Myspace was even though their page was pretty much the reason people started paying attention to their music back in 2004/2005. The band claims that it was a fan account that started all this social media craze, but regardless of whose idea it was to share Arctic Monkeys’ music on Myspace, it’s still a fact.

Social media fame eventually caught the attention of BBC Radio and music press, and soon the band was hailed as the next best thing on the British indie scene. Ten years and several solo projects later, Monkeys still enjoy world-wide success and just confirmed that they’re working on a new record.

Calvin Harris

Long before he had abs to die for and A-list girlfriends, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris was just one of many producers who took their music to Myspace to share their bedroom-produced bangers with the cyber world. His music did stand out from the rest and Harris quickly nabbed himself a record deal and released debut record “I Created Disco” in 2007.

Keeping his hand firmly on the social media’s pulse, Harris also hosted a hilarious talk show of sorts on his YouTube channel, where he would ask various fellow musicians (including Katy Perry) to open a pot of jam (not an easy task at all). Fast forward to 2011, when Harris teamed up with Rihanna for that little known song called “We Found Love.” We’re sure that these days Harris still has an army of people willing to open a jam pot for him.

Kate Nash

We’ll be forever grateful for this British singer-songwriter coming up with the line “You said I must eat so many lemons, ‘cause I am so bitter” from her breakthrough hit “Foundation.” And Nash herself will be grateful for Myspace providing her an opportunity to find her first manager and producers.

These days she still tours and releases music, but on her own terms, since she has launched her own music label. She’s also an actress and an cactivist who uses social media to raise awareness on various issues.

Metro Station

While Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana was a made-up rock star, Cyrus’ brother Trace Cyrus got to be the lead guitarist in a very real pop rock band Metro Station. While Mason Musso is a brother of another Hannah Montana star, Mitchel Musso. The band was joined by Anthony Improgo and started uploading music onto Myspace, where its fanbase started growing, thanks to the catchy tunes and emo-chic looks of the band members, which appealed to the mid-00s teens.

Climbing the Myspace Music Unsigned Band’s chart led to a promising record deal and a proper hit “Shake It.” But no amount of success could prevent the in-band clashing and Metro Station went on a lengthy hiatus. Seems like these days all the drama is past them and the band finally released a follow-up album in 2015 and recently announced a new tour.

Cobra Starship

While mapping out the direction for his future band, Gabe Saporta posted his response to Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” (it was called “Hollaback Boy”) on Myspace. The synth-driven tongue-in-cheek approach of Cobra Starship was met with much enthusiasm, and soon the band was providing the main theme for the notorious Snakes on a Plane horror comedy.

The band released four studio albums, some more “sequel tunes” (including “I Kissed a Boy” as an ode to Katy Perry’s banger) and split in late 2015. Saporta announced that he would work solely behind the scenes from now on, which is a shame — there’s always a need for some sassy synth-heavy pop number.

Tila Tequila

The model from Vietnam basically created the whole idea of internet personality and is heavily responsible for the reality TV craze that followed. Her raunchy Myspace posts turned her into a #celebrity (long before hashtags were a thing), and eventually landed her TV gigs such as a dating show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, where both girls and guys were competing for the sweet spot in the former Playboy Cyber Girl Of the Week’s heart.

Time magazine called Tequila the “queen of Myspace,” but social media fame was not enough for the scantily clad superstar. She released music (“Stripper Friends” and “I Fucked the DJ” to name a few), self-help book and several style and dating websites, but from 2013 dedicated her time to promoting anti-Semitism and sharing her fascination with Hitler. That pretty much ended her social media “reign,” since Twitter suspended her account (Facebook did too for a while).

6 Movie Franchises That Are Frighteningly Cursed

Sometimes you make a small film and it becomes a huge success. Sometimes a huge movie fails to impress the audience. And then there are movies that are just plain sinister. We’ve collected scary real-life stories that surrounded the production of some well-know movie franchises. In some cases, the tragedies kept on happening even years after the cursed films were released.

Poltergeist

A number one on all the cursed movies lists of all time, the Poltergeist trilogy has been surrounded by mystery and death for all of its run time. “The Poltergeist curse” originally hit actress Dominique Dunne who was strangled by her boyfriend before the second movie went into production. Young Heather O’Rourke aka Carol Anne died months before the third movie came out after complications from an acute bowel obstruction. The origin of the curse is often associated with the rumors that real human skeletons were used during the production of the original movie. Surprisingly, the producers weren’t scared to reboot the franchise, releasing a remake two years ago.

Halloween

What does a movie need to become a successful franchise? A good writer and a loyal producer, for starters. The Michael Myers saga had both and bloomed into an eight-movie-long blood-splattered series.

Who knows which direction the series would have taken if the mighty producer Moustapha Akkad wasn’t killed with his daughter during bombings in Amman, Jordan, while waiting in the hotel lobby in 2005? It was just a year after Debra Hill, co-writer of the original Halloween died from cancer. Akkad’s son Malek took over as the man who calls the shots on Michael Myers’ action and greenlit two remakes dedicated to his father.

Resident Evil

Resident Evil movie series had its share of gloriously gory demises and the upcoming sixth installment Final Chapter promises to be the most violent one. Sadly, the production of the finale was just as chaotic and bloody.

First, British stuntwoman Olivia Jackson got into a freak accident, when she crashed into a metal camera arm while filming an intense motorbike scene. The injuries were so heavy that her left arm had to be amputated while her face ended up covered in scars. And several days later crew member Ricardo Cornelious was killed by a Hummer, which fell onto him from the rotating platform.

The Crow

The making of the 1994 cult thriller was messy (to say the least) from day one. On the first day, a crew member ended up burning over 90% of his body after a crane ran into a power cable. But the most outrageous thing happened when the film’s lead star, Brandon Lee, was fatally shot while filming a scene.

The prop crew didn’t inspect the props properly and left it in charge of an inexperienced crew member, who didn’t even check the guns before the filming started. Lee got a bullet in the abdomen and died after six hours of surgery. The whole story was echoing the death of Brandon Lee’s legendary father, Bruce Lee, who got killed on set of a movie 20 years prior to The Crow’s tragedy.

Superman

While in comic books and movie adaptations, Superman was almost invincible, in real world a connection to the Superman world prove to be fatal for the people involved.

George Reeves, who played the alien superhero in TV series Adventures of Superman, was found dead in 1959 and people still speculate on whether it was a suicide or not. Christopher Reeves, who starred in four Superman feature films, fell from a horse in 1995 and was left paralyzed from the waist down. Add the career misfortunes of other actors who played Superman (Dean Cain anyone? How about Tom Welling?) and you get a proper “Superman Curse” Too bad no one can identify the big villain behind all of these mysterious events.

The Omen

Don’t mess with the dark forces. Also, don’t play with tigers. The Omen’s animal handler learned the latter the hard way, when he was killed but a tiger right after the production was wrapped. Then the special effects expert’s girlfriend was beheaded in a freak car accident, the tragedy that mirrored events of the film.

The planes of the cast and crew members were hit by lighting on multiple occasions. And all of the actors who played Damien in the following films (and there are 5 The Omen movies to date) felt the presence of some mystical power and on most occasions quit acting. The latest episode in the ongoing “The Omen curse” saga occurred just last year, when Harvey Spencer Stephens (who played Damien in the original film) attacked two cyclist and punched them in the face. The actor will face 12 months of jail time.

James Cameron on ‘Alien’ Franchise: “I Don’t Think It’s Worked Out Terribly Well”

Director James Cameron has revealed his thoughts concerning the Alien franchise during a recent interview.

Cameron directed the 1986 Alien sequel Aliens and the franchise has seen a number of movies released over the course of five decades. Alien: Covenant is due for release in May of this year.

Speaking to Vulture, Cameron said; “The franchise has kind of wandered all over the map. Ridley [Scott] did the first film, and he inspired an entire generation of filmmakers and science-fiction fans with that one movie.”

He continued: “I don’t think it’s worked out terribly well. I think we’ve moved on beyond it. It’s like, okay, we’ve got it, we’ve got the whole Freudian biomechanoid meme. I’ve seen it in 100 horror films since.”

“I think both of those films stand at a certain point in time, as a reference point. But is there any validity to doing another one now? I don’t know. Maybe. Let’s see, jury’s out. Let’s see what Ridley comes up with,” he added.

Speaking of his work on Aliens, Cameron said; “I sort of did it as a fanboy. I wanted to honour his film, but also say what I needed to say. After that, I don’t take any responsibility.”

Meanwhile, James Cameron is reportedly set to team up with Deadpool director Tim Miller on a reboot of The Terminator.

The director of the original 1984 film and its follow up Terminator 2: Judgment Day is believed to be in early talks according to Deadline sources. They also claim the new film will bring a “conclusion” to the franchise.

David Ellison, who co-financed the last film, Terminator Genisys, is bankrolling the reboot. Ellison still holds many rights to the franchise, after his 2013 acquisition from sister Megan Ellison. She bought them in 2011 at Cannes for $20 million.

But Cameron is set to regain certain rights to the franchise in 2019.

Maisie Williams Calls Leaking ‘Game of Thrones’ Spoilers ‘Childish and Annoying’

Ozzy Osbourne: ‘I’m Not a Sex Addict’

Ozzy Osbourne has denied that he is a sex addict.

It comes despite a statement from a representative for Black Sabbath revealing last year that the singer was undergoing “intense therapy” for sex addiction.

At the time the statement was released following intense media speculation over Osbourne’s 33-year marriage to Sharon, which came into the spotlight earlier in the year when the pair separated last May. However, Osbourne later said that their marriage was “back on track again”.

Now Osbourne claims that he is not a sex addict. “I’m in a fucking rock band, aren’t I? There have always been groupies,” he told The Times. “I just got caught, didn’t I? I don’t think I’m a fucking sex addict.”

Sharon Osbourne wed the Black Sabbath frontman in 1982, having three children together.

Their family life later became the focus of MTV reality show The Osbournes, which aired between 2002 and 2005.

Osbourne also recently revealed that he thinks Lemmy is watching over him and keeping him safe.

The Motörhead singer and bassist passed away in December 2015 two days after being diagnosed with “extremely aggressive cancer”.

He and Osbourne were close friends. “I reckon it’s Lemmy,” he said of who was looking after him. “Lemmy was a good friend mine. He always used to say he thought I’d die first. Of course I feel lucky that I didn’t. I phoned him half an hour before he went and I knew there was something not right. Me and Sharon drove over, but [he] was gone.”

Osbourne is now 68 and preparing for his band’s final ever shows. They will call it a day after two hometown shows at Birmingham’s Genting Arena on February 2 and 4. The band announced they would be splitting up after Tony Iommi was diagnosed with lymphoma.

Over the weekend (January 28), former Black Sabbath keyboardist Geoff Nicholls died aged 68. He had been battling lung cancer.

Kevin Garrett on How He Turns Heartbreak Into 'Mellow Drama'

After listening to his latest EP, Mellow Drama, it's safe to say that Kevin Garrett isn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. Drawing from both personal experiences and his mastery with song lyrics, he'll tug at your hearts strings and make you swoon at the same time. Not only has he garnered Sam Smith as a fan, he also had a hand in co-writing and co-producing "Pray You Catch Me" for Beyonce's Lemonade. We had the chance to get to know Kevin a little better before he goes on his False Hope Tour, which kicks off in Toronto on Tuesday night (January 31).

Hometown: By the time my family moved to the suburbs, I feel like I’d lived through a reasonable portion of my youth, but I'm from Pittsburgh. I like to call Pittsburgh the "Anderson .Paak" of cities because everybody is too late to catch onto how great it is.

Talk about the first song you wrote. What was it about?

I wrote a song called "Fly Away" when I was 11 or 12 that was just very bad. It was about leaving a particular place by way of flight.

You've worked with a number of big artists on the songwriting and producing front. What led to this route first? Or was this something you were doing (songwriting/producing) while you were getting your own name out there as an artist?

I still have a long way to go in terms of writing for others as well as getting my name out there as an artist. But I’ve done a lot of the writing and producing parts pretty independently whether it’s for others or for myself. I think the people I’ve worked with heard my stuff as either demos or released tracks and became fans first.

What is your approach to songwriting for others? Does it differ from when you write for yourself?

Sometimes it’s beneficial to get into the artist’s headspace but I’ve learned they tend to like what I do for myself so I just try to stay honest with it.

How do you feel getting praise from people like Sam Smith and Beyonce?

It’s flattering to receive praise from anyone but there’s obviously a very surreal feeling when someone that far up and that real takes the time to say something nice let alone trusts you to help channel their vision.

Mellow Drama is quite vibey and tends to hit you in the heart. What inspires you?

I’ve been hurt before, and I think I’ve always been fascinated with thinking ahead, which usually ends up not working out for me. I’m constantly going over hypotheticals in my head, mostly negative. Some call that pessimism, but I call it songwriting.

I’ve read that "Precious" is a personal one. How do you get comfortable putting yourself out there like that?

You don’t fall and enjoy someone’s company without being comfortable enough putting yourself out there in the first place. And I find that I don’t connect on songs the same way with myself and with people if I don’t showcase that same comfort and honesty. It's different with people than with songwriting, but the concept is very similar.

You've got the False Hope Tour coming up. What can fans expect?

Well, I think being an unsigned and personally very independent artist, I’ve certainly run into some obstacles that are probably not uncommon for someone in my position. But I want to give fans the best experience I can, so hopefully I don’t let anyone down.

Any new EP or album coming out in 2017?

I’d like to think so.

What are the big plans for you this year?

I used to not make plans and just continually keep moving. I want to try and go back to that mindset. All I’ll say is I want to put out music and keep building what I’ve been able to grow so far in this strange sort of way, whether that’s with or without a label in the future. And I just want to keep getting better.

Listen to Isabella’s "All Of My Life" Exclusively on Myspace!

You can’t go wrong with a big Spanish-flavored pop tune. Nobody knows it better than Puerto Rican/French singer Isabella, who is ready to follow her 2016 catchy debut single “Olé” with the equally fiery single “All of My Life”, which Myspace exclusive premieres today.

“'All Of My Life' is about a love that you find after a time of being apart; a true love you have been looking for throughout your life and you finally find,” Isabella explained to us. “When I was writing 'All Of My Life,' I felt like I was writing a poem. I sang the verses melodically and then sat down at the piano to figure out the chord progression. I’m so excited for everyone to hear this song. It has such a different sound compared to my first single, ‘Olé'”.

Both of Isabella’s singles will be included on her forthcoming EP. While the release date and the name of the record are yet to be announced, we can already confirm that all of the tracks will be overtly passionate. Just what we needed during winter!

'Stranger Things' Star David K. Harbour Gives Inspiring Speech at SAG Awards

When the cast of Stranger Things won the award for Ensemble in a Drama Series, all of the Netflix show's stars, especially Winona Ryder, were stunned. But aside from the variety of faces Winona made at the show, David K. Harbour, who plays police chief Jim Hopper, gave an impassioned acceptance speech that brought the audience to their feet.

"We will repel bullies. We will shelter freaks and outcasts; those who have no home. We will get past the lies. We will hunt monsters," he said. "And when we are lost amidst the hypocrisy and casual violence of certain individuals and institutions … we will punch some people in the face when they seek to destroy the weak and the disenfranchised and the marginalized. And we will do it all with soul and with heart and with joy."

While many of the night's stars threw down their own opinions of Donald Trump and the new immigration ban, this one was definitely a moment that no one would forget.

Following his nostalgic video for "Castle on the Hill," Ed Sheeran has just dropped the visual for his other single, "Shape of You." However, with the help of director Jason Koenig, Ed gets into the ring and not only channels his inner Rocky Balboa but also falls for the female boxer at the gym. And while we're sure she'd win in a sparring match, she falls for his charm and also trains him for his big fight. By the end of the clip, he's ready to fight. Unfortunately, his opponent is just too much, but luckily, his lady love comes to save the day.

"Shape of You" is off his upcoming record, Divide, which releases on March 3. In the meantime, watch the video below.

Celebrities React to Trump's Ban and Justin Bieber Manages to Keep His Teeth

15 Celebrity Business Ventures You Didn't Know About

Using a celebrity’s smiling face as bait to sell your product is old news. But what happens when a famous person doesn’t just want to endorse a product, but feels ready to create something of his or her own? Turns out, some A-listers look as good in their business suits as they do on red carpets. Here's 15 celebrity business ventures you didn't know about.

Justin Timberlake — Restauranteur (Among Other Things)

Memphis native boyband wonder turned solo star turned movie star likes his southern food a bit too much. He was involved with three restaurant franchises, including “Southern Hospitality,” where he likes to arrange surprise concerts for the patrons. He also runs a gold club, a basketball team, makes clothes and has his own beverage. The guy clearly likes to keep himself busy.

Sarah Michelle Gellar — Baking Kits

We may remember her for slaying armies of vampires, but when it comes to cooking, former Buffy the Vampire Slayer clearly doesn’t like to set things on fire. A couple of years ago Gellar got inspired by baking with her kids and launched an online store called Foodstirs, where you can buy pre-made kits to follow the Slayer’s creative ideas. Her debut cookbook is coming in April, too.

Jessica Simpson — Fashion Designer

It’s been a while (well, more than a decade to be exact), since Jessica Simpson had a hit single, but she doesn’t seem to be bothered at all. Her other passion – fashion – is bringing her steady income since 2006, when Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection. By now it has enough Jessica-approved items to stack up any wardrobe: from shoes to accessories.

Adam Levine — Fashion Designer (Among Other Things)

We all know what the main side gig of Maroon 5’s front man is — it’s spinning in his chair as the judge of The Voice. But the pop rocker still has some extra time on his hands to release his own menswear collections, create perfumes, run a record label and star in movies. In 2008 he also presented his very own guitar in collaboration with First Act.

Britney Spears — Perfume & Apps

Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of Britney’s proper arrival to the pop world. And the world still wants a piece of her. Her Las Vegas residency surely brings her enough income, but the mother of two also loves to help you smell good — last summer she released her 20th perfume. Oh, and there’s also an app called Britney Spears: American Dream, which allows you to “LIVE A POP STAR FANTASY WITH BRITNEY SPEARS!"

Shakira — App Creator

Just like Britney, Colombian pop diva decided to step into the app market and released a Love Rock starring Shakira puzzle video game. Top that with her own S by Shakira beauty line and lots of activism, and it’s easy to understand why Forbes deemed her own of the most powerful women in the world.

Kanye West — Shoe Designer

Chances are you already know what Kanye does in his music-free time — he dreams about shoes. And then you dream about getting a pair of Adidas YEEZYs, perhaps the most famous celebrity-produced sneakers in history.

Jennifer Aniston — Hair Products & SmartWater Promotion

Just like any other Hollywood hot shot, Jennifer Aniston knows the power of drinking lots and lots of water every single day. She did however took her love to water one step too far, when she started promoting SmartWater in 2007. For the last four years she also co-owned hair care brand Living Proof, but left the board last year.

Ashton Kutcher — Tech & Restauranteur

No wonder Ashton Kutcher was the first celebrity who prompted the rise of Twitter — the guy knows the importance of e-commerce and can predict the success of a company from the get go, which is why he invests heavily into all sorts of startups, such as Airbnb, Fab.com and Foursquare. He even teamed up with Lenovo to work as a product engineer. He also co-owns several restaurants with his former That 70’s Show mates.

Sandra Bullock — Restauranteur & Producer

Oscar winning actress used the knowledge she gained while working in front of the camera to eventually step behind it and founded her own production company Fortis Films, which overlooks the sitcom George Lopez. She also owned a restaurant in Austin, TX, for almost nine years, and a bakery/restaurant/floral shop hybrid.

Rihanna — Tidal Co-Owner, Beauty & Photo

When he announced the launch of his very own music streaming service Tidal, Jay Z relied heavily on the support of his famous friends. Naturally Rihanna (the singer Jay Z personally raised to become one of the biggest stars on the planet) was among the renowned co-owners of the business. Later in 2015 Rihanna launched a beauty/stylist agency Fr8me, which was followed by a photo agency with the cute name “A Dog Ate My Homework.”

Madonna — Fitness

Madonna’s enterprise consists of many successful endeavors. In the early '90s she co-founded an entertainment company Maverick, which, for example, launched Alanis Morissette’s career. In 2010 she opened a chain of high-end gyms called Hard Candy Fitness, which can be found in Berlin, Moscow, Mexico City, Rome, Santiago, St. Petersburg and Sydney. She runs a lifestyle brand Truth of Dare by Madonna and has had many other projects over the course of her wide-spread career.

Kate Hudson — Fitness & Fashion

Kate Hudson may be known for her comedic talents, but when it comes to business, she’s not joking around. In 2013 she launched an online subscription store of women’s sportswear and accessories called Fabletics. What’s so special about it? Well, apparently it covers your private area very well.

Flo-Rida — Fitness

Flo-Rida’s always been all about partying hard, but let’s not forget about all those muscles. Good news: you can get just as fit if you follow the rapper's special Flo Fit program, which will get you in shape in no time (eight weeks to be exact).

Justin Bieber — Tech

Over the years, Justin Bieber has invested into many technology companies, including Spotify, Stamped and SoJo Studios. Which is no surprise: if a guy knows how to become a celebrity relying heavily on social media, there’s no reason to doubt his abilities of working the streaming game from the other angle, too.

8 Musicals to Bring You to Your Happy Place

Here’s the thing about musicals: they’re the ultimate in whisking you away to another place. Want to go back to 17th century America? There’s a musical for that. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989? There’s a musical for that. The Vietnam War? There’s a musical for that.

Ultimately, musical theater is compelling because the stories are told with music, presented with intricately designed sets and costumes. Something about having live music performed with compelling storytelling in front of you is not just thrilling — it’s transformative and evokes emotion like no movie or book can.

Musicals have a way of sticking with people for long periods of time, and while tragedies such as “West Side Story” and “Les Mis” have a way of searing themselves in your subconscious, there’s no shortage of happy, feel-good musicals to take you to places far, far away.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Listen to:
“Wicked Little Town,” “Origin of Love”

John Cameron Mitchell and co-creator Stephen Trask created Hedwig — a gender-bending, East German rock & roller — at a New York drag club in 1994. The story of a rock diva who underwent not only a botched sex change operation but also a disastrous love affair with a man who stole her songs, it is one of the most brilliant shows to ever hit Broadway, with the best life lessons and songs ever.

In this gender-bending show, you learn (through songs, of course!) that love knows no gender, delves into the Greek origins of love, and that acceptance — as a drag queen or otherwise — comes in all flavors. It’s a punk rock show that was way ahead of its time, and is just now going mainstream.

Rent

Listen to:
“Seasons of Love” “Light My Candle”

Even if you weren’t a theater geek in the 1990s, you’d know the song “Seasons of Love,” which started with “Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes/ How do you measure, measure a year?/ In daylights, in sunsets /In midnights, in cups of coffee/ In inches, in miles/ In laughter, in strife.” It was a mantra that ushered in a real theater experience, discussing the issues of money, AIDS and drugs through the lives of artists in New York struggling to pay rent. Its radio-friendly pop songs changed musical theater for younger audiences, and created a new generation of musical theater fans.

Hamilton

Listen to:
The whole soundtrack

It may be too early to call Hamilton a true classic, but the powerfully smart and catchy story of Alexander Hamilton, the Founding Father who was the Secretary of Treasury and wrote 51 of the 85 Federalist Papers, is possibly the best hip-hop musical to ever hit Broadway. The immigrant narrative has a predominantly non-white cast, and Lin-Manuel Miranda's songs are a sublime mix of intellectual lyrics and earworms. Thus, the inevitable Pulitzer and slew of Grammys and Tonys. The soundtrack is also a chart success — again, something that rarely happens in theater. It's impossible to tamp down your own patriotism in songs like "My Shot" and "Non-Stop."

Book of Mormon

Listen to:
"Hello," "Hasa Diga Eebowai"

The story of Elder Price, a Mormon missionary who ends up in Uganda encountering one misadventure after another, doesn't sound like it would become a Tony Award-winning musical. But "The Book of Mormon," written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, has been a lightning rod for controversy since it debuted in 2011.

It's flippant and hilarious — yet sometimes dirty, but the irreverence toward religion has sparked  many conversations about Mormons -- one that has actually been welcomed by the Church of Latter-Day Saints. Why not, when songs like "Hello" get stuck in your head for weeks after seeing it?

Wicked

Listen to:
"I'm Not That Girl," "Defying Gravity"

Flipping the order of good and evil gives "Wicked" the most satisfying twist ever, and it doesn't hurt that the reimagined musical,  original roots in L. Frank Baum’s classic, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," has songs that have culturally taken root in the American consciousness. It's also, in these trying times, culturally relevant: citizens can be fooled by misinformation from their rulers. Elphaba is wicked only because everyone says so!

Made for misfits everywhere, "Wicked" gets better with each iteration.

Sound of Music

Listen to:
“My Favorite Things,” "So Long, Farewell"

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s family musical “The Sound of Music” doesn't ostensibly necessarily have the happiest story — Nazis come for Captain. Von Trapp toward the end, and are almost betrayed by Leisl's sweetheart Rolf, but how can it not bring you back to better days when you, your parents and your grandparents know every word by heart?

"The Sound of Music"'s appeal lies in the incredible nostalgia it delivers, and makes it a classic for every age.

West Side Story

Listen to:
"Tonight," "America"

If you're a rebel, a romantic, a lover — you'd have a soft spot for "West Side Story," which remakes the story of Romeo & Juliet told through warring teenage gangs in New York City. For a story that debuted on Broadway in 1957, it still feels totally fresh. The songs? Classic. The dancing? Groundbreaking. The life lessons? The love between a Puerto Rican girl and a white boy is still ultimately relevant in post-racial America.

Its influence is still felt in many ways today, in everything from Bruno Mars choreography to the coming together of high and low art forms (ballet and popular dance, opera and pop).

Jesus Christ Superstar

Listen to:
"Everything's Alright," "What's the Buzz"

If you're looking for a way to introduce nonbelievers to Christianity, "Jesus Christ Superstar' is it.

Originally conceived as a concept album, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera is a fascinating story that tells Jesus' last days. It was controversial when it came out in 1970, but today it is performed in church groups around the world around Easter as a way to draw kids into the church. The songs are incredibly catchy and have been revived by musicians of all genres — from Sebastian Bach to Alice Cooper to Living Colour to the Indigo Girls.

Emma Stone Opens Up About Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Emma Stone has opened up in a new interview about suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.

Stone is up for Best Actress at the 2017 Oscars for her role in La La Land, which has notched up a record-equalling 14 nominations in total.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Stone has spoken about suffering from anxiety from a young age and how acting has helped her overcome it. “It’s just the way I’m wired,” she says. “I think my parents saw that acting was the thing that made me fulfilled and happy.”

Stone also revealed that she relocated from Hollywood to New York in 2009 because of the stress induced by the city. “I started to feel overwhelmed by the energy of Hollywood,” she explains. “I would go places, and all anybody could talk about was the entertainment industry. I just felt too surrounded by that.”

“Losing my anonymity after [2010 teen comedy] Easy A, it was like being 7 years old all over again,” she says. “It terrified me.”

AFP/Getty Images

Stone also reveals that she suffered something of a “meltdown” in 2014 while filming Birdman. “The tightrope walk of that movie, the pacing and timing — I lost my mind a bit. I just got to a point where I snapped.”

Speaking to the process is also an anxiety trigger, she says. “Before any interview, I have to sit with myself for five minutes and breathe and get centred because I get so nervous. Interviews are kind of like therapy, except all your answers are being written down and printed. I always want to be on the other side of it. I don’t want to be deconstructed for millions. I’d rather do the deconstructing.”

This year’s Oscars nominations were announced earlier this week. See the full Oscar nominations 2017 list.

The 2017 Oscars will take place on February 22 at the The Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles at 7 o’clock EST and 4pm PT. Jimmy Kimmel will be the host for the evening.

Star Wars Novel Set to Explore Chirrut and Baze Backstory

A new Star Wars novel is set to explore the back story of Chirrut and Baze, who appeared in the recent standalone film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Baze and Chirrut used to be Guardians of the Whills, who looked after the Kyber Temple on Jedha and all those who worshipped there. Then the Empire came and took over the planet and destroyed the temple.

According to Screenrant, the book will be titled ‘Star Wars: Guardians of the Whills’ and it’ll be written by bestselling author and comic book scribe Greg Rucka, known for his work on Black Widow, Elektra, and Daredevil. You can see the cover below.

Rogue One Star Wars Story novel

It was recently revealed that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has officially made over $1 billion at the global box office, making it one of only four films to do so in 2016.

The feat follows Captain America: Civil War ($1.153 billion), Finding Dory ($1.028 billion) and Zootopia ($1.024). All four films to pass the $ 1 billion mark were created by Disney.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the stand alone Star Wars prequel hit $512.2 million in North America and $499.1 million overseas over the weekend, making a total of $1.011 billion at the box office since its release in December last year. It crossed the $1 billion mark on its 39th day in cinemas.

Meanwhile, Princess Leia’s appearance at the end of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been clarified.

(Warning: Spoiler alert) Many fans were left baffled by her appearance at the battle of Scarif at the end of the film, when in a previous scene, Bail Organa, Leia’s adoptive father, told Mon Mothma that he was sending Leia to Tatooine to try to recruit Obi-Wan Kenobi into the Rebel Alliance.

According to Pablo Hidalgo, a member of the Lucasfilm Story Group, the reason why that happened was because Leia and Admiral Raddus were heading to Tatooine when they received word of the battle taking place on Scarif.
