Laura Jean Anderson knows that things may have been better before — but she still has hope. That’s the sentiment behind "Won’t Give Up On You," her emphatic new song.
"Take me back to golden days," croons Laura Jean Anderson, "and glory days / the olden way."
The song’s reflective tone continues as Anderson sings over just the strums of her guitar. Then, her band then comes in for a loud and clear chorus: "I won’t give up on you."
"In response to what is going on in the political and social climate, I wanted to release 'Won't Give Up On You' as fuel to the belief that you cannot give up on other people just because they give up on you,” says Anderson to Myspace. "It's a deeply personal song but I believe more than ever that the personal is political!"
