In the vein of The Office and Parks and Rec, and maybe a little bit Angie Tribeca, YouTube Red’s new comedy starring Ryan Hansen is offering up a ton of laughs at the expense of the LAPD and Hollywood stars. The show within a show, Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television is star-studded, hilarious, and also a little bit gory since we’re dealing with murder and all.
The Veronica Mars alum stars as himself in this show about a show alongside the Emmy-nominated Samira Wiley (Orange is the New Black) as the no-nonsense LAPD homicide detective who he’s paired up with to help solve crimes in Los Angeles. And with it, he’s revealing some of Hollywood stars’ biggest secrets — now we really know what Kristen Bell thinks of Frozen.
And though YouTube Red (not a porn site, as Hansen keeps reminding us) is gearing up to release Ryan Hansen, one show is overwhelming the TV circuit this Halloween, and Ryan Hansen shared a little nod to everyone’s favorite sci-fi/mystery/nostalgia show, Stranger Things:
