We Bow Down to the List of Jericho and Make New Additions

Naughty or nice. Those are the two headings you’ll find on Santa’s List, arguably the most talked about and famous checklist in the world. Up till Christmas Day, kids and parents will be talking about how to stay on the nice side, while avoiding the naughty end. One person not happy with his standing on Santa’s list is Chris Jericho. Upset with the coal he’ll surely get, Jericho would warn Santa to watch “it”, followed by putting Jolly Old Saint Nick on the hottest new list in all of pop culture: The List of Jericho.

Staying current and always reinventing one’s gimmick is what separates wrestling legends from your average worker. From “Lionheart” Chris Jericho to the Ayatollah and Rock ‘N’ Rolla and Y2J, Jericho has used many faces during his illustrious career. His newest incarnation is a scarf wearing, Jon Bon Jovi look-a-like that loves calling people “stupid idiots.” He then proceeds to stick them on his list, which is a collection of people and things Chris is not a fan of. As a result, The List of Jericho has been the most entertaining thing in wrestling over the past few months.

Being the holiday season, we help out Chris with things that should be on his list but haven’t found their way on just yet.

Myspace

Of course we’re on the list! As we’ve noted in the past, Jericho doesn’t sound like he’s the biggest fan of Myspace having asked the question on his segment The Highlight Reel: “Myspacing…Is that still a thing? Myspace?” Yes, Chris we most certainly are. He may not be a fan of our wrestling posts or our critiques of his band Fozzy, but like those conspiracy-fueled secret societies, we’re always watching.

Am I a stupid idiot? Well that can be debated, but Jericho adding his grievances with us on his list only makes sense. Just don’t overdo it with the insults Chris, or we might just start a list of our own!

The New Day

Having spent the early part of 2016 calling The New Day “Rooty, Tooty, Booty,” Jericho doesn’t need many reasons to stick this trio on his list.  Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston have actually made their way onto the list in the past, so this is a bit of a cheat. They’ve been on the list for questioning and making fun of Jericho’s friendship with Kevin Owens. We’re nominating them to go back on the list for their tag team championship title reign.

The New Day is set to break Demolition’s record of 478 days as tag team champions later this month. While that’s a great accomplishment for the guys, it’s been horrible for RAW’s tag team division and honestly, for the fans. This title run has been as fun and forced as Nikki Bella’s title run as the Divas Champ. Their matches have been copy and paste during this run, as most of their feuds have been forgettable. The talented and charismatic trio are already over with fans and don’t need the titles. Jericho should put them on his list again thinking that he and Kevin Owens would be better options as tag champs!

The Year 2016

From pins to shirts and hats, we’ve seen all kinds of merchandise declaring “Fuck 2016!” That’s how popular this year has been with America and most of the world. The poster boy is Trump, and rightfully so, but he’s just the biggest example of a year in which everything and anything that could go wrong, did. Good people got screwed over, while the bad preserved and prospered. Granted that’s an age-old template for life, but 2016 had an unusually high volume of crappy luck for us all.

Jericho should have 2016 on his list because he hasn’t won a title this year. Even though Jericho defeated AJ Styles at WrestleMania 32, Styles has gone on to win the WWE Championship. Chris’ best friend Kevin Owens has reached the top of RAW by winning the WWE Universal Championship. With everyone winning titles except him, that can’t sit well with Jericho. If Chris could have 2016 as a guest on The Highlight Reel, he’d call it a “stupid idiot” and proceed to the beat the living hell out of the horrible year that was.

Dean Ambrose

If somebody owed me $15,000, not only would I stick them on my own “Shit List,” but I’d track them down and get my money’s worth! Jericho’s feud with Dean Ambrose may have come before the creation of The List of Jericho, but Ambrose is definitely a name that should be added. Having destroyed Chris Jericho’s $15k Lite-Brite jacket back in May, Ambrose became the inspiration behind Jericho calling opponents “stupid idiots” to vent his frustrations.

Not only did Ambrose destroy Jericho’s jacket, but the man put hundreds of thumb tacks into Jericho’s body at their Extreme Rules match. The match was great to watch but also absolutely brutal, leaving Jericho bloodied and looking like a pin cushion. Jericho gave up his body to put over Dean and to deliver an Attitude Era match for the fans. It’s safe to assume Chris isn’t thrilled that Dean’s had various title matches since. Ultimately, Chris might just put Dean on the list due to Dean’s ridiculous attempts at hiding his receding hairline!

Kanye West

“Kanye West is a stupid idiot!” is something that not only Chris Jericho would say but millions of other people would concur with. We all remember back in 2009 when Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift’s award speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. Had Kanye West done that to Chris, he would have “punched him in the face and knocked him off” as Chris shares in this video:

Since that time, Kanye’s gotten married to the Kardashian clan, continued to be annoying and self-indulgent as ever, setting himself on narcissistic free-fall that easily lands him a spot on The List of Jericho. We could rattle off hundreds of more reasons to stick Kanye on the list, but in a battle of ego-driven celebrities between Yeezy and Jericho, there can only be one (ala Highlander). The WWE Universe would unite behind Jericho to finally see Kanye get his ass handed to him.

Brock Lesnar and Goldberg

These two giants find themselves on the list as results of real-life backstage heat with Jericho. You gotta be tough and a bit psychotic if you go picking a fight with monsters twice your size, but Jericho has no fear apparently. Brock Lesnar is on the list based on a run-in he had with Chris at SummerSlam this year. After Brock pummeled and cracked opened Randy Orton’s head, Jericho thought Brock went off-script and confronted him backstage. The two were separated before any fists were thrown but that would be something I’d pay to watch on the WWE Network.

As for Goldberg, their heat goes back to the days of WCW where Goldberg didn’t want to start a feud with Jericho, deeming him not worthy. Nothing came out of Jericho’s fake Goldberg feud, but the two met again years later in WWE in a real backstage fight. Probably to everyone’s surprise, Jericho took down Goldberg using a front-face lock and kept the big man down. Turns out wrestling skills can beat muscles every time.

The Bella Twins

The “wrestling” version of the Kardashians have earned a spot on Jericho’s list for just being themselves. Nikki and Brie might be WWE’s reality queens, but most wrestling fans are over the twins. Not only has the WWE Universe been subjected to watching their matches but WWE keeps hawking the Bella’s reality shows and social media feeds. If you think wrestling is scripted, just try and sit through an episode of E!’s Total Divas or Total Bellas. These “stupid idiots” should be replaced by Jericho’s own reality show where each week he meets celebrities to determine if they should be on his list or not.
