10 Rappers That Take Their Wealth to the Next Level

Rappers love to show how rich they are. Getting rich or/and/almost dying trying is in rap’s DNA and will probably always stay that way. From charitable gestures to diamond grills, these 10 stars take their displays of wealth to the next level.

French Montana

Bought: A zoo

Julius Caesar. This is the name of French Montana’s BFF who also happens to be a pet monkey. The monkey has to fight for its friend’s attention though: you never know when French may rent a couple of baby tigers again. Let’s just hope Julius won’t repeat the fate of Justin Bieber’s monkey OG Mally, who was confiscated in Munich. Keep safe, Julius!

Chance the Rapper

Bought: All the tickets to Get Out

Spoiler alert: this is hardly the most lavish purchase on our list, but it’s definitely one we can get behind. Chance the Rapper was so impressed with Jordan Peele’s horror movie Get Out, that he bought all the tickets to one of Chicago screenings to make sure his fans see the film. “I bought all the tickets to #GetOut at Chatham Theatre on 87th Just pull up with ID and enjoy the movie,” he tweeted. Let’s all hope he keeps on going to movies and sharing them with us.

Jay-Z

Bought: a horse

We’re sure Jay-Z is showering Queen Bey with all kinds of luxuries, but back in 2014 he made a grand gesture all to himself, buying a horse for $55M: Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner horse was named California Chrome. Was there ever a cooler way to make your cash run out?!

Drake

Bought: Experience Shower

The “Hotline Bling” abuser and “One Dance” enthusiast loves to shower himself with money — almost literally. Drake installed an "experience shower" at his home — perhaps the most expensive way to nurture your body with water. It cost around a quarter of a million. It is lit by all kinds of LED lights and sprays you with all kinds of glamorous scents. So in case you always wondered what it would be like to take a shower with Drake, now you know: you’ll end up smelling like lavender.

Kanye West

Bought: Sistine Chapel Ceiling

In the most Kanye West move of them all, Yeezus ordered a recreation of one of the most celebrated ceilings in the world right in his house. The knock-off version of Sistine Chapel’s painting cost him around $350,000. Quite cheap for playing God if you ask us.

Lil ‘Wayne

Bought: Diamond Grills

Lil’ Wayne took his urge to get a million dollar smile to a whole new level when he installed diamond grills worth of $150,000. Do you want a golden toothpick to go with your order, sir?

Diddy

Bought: Two Maybachs for his son

Diddy is a hell of a daddy. The rapper gifted his son Justin with a brand new shinning Maybach on his extra sweet 16 back in 2010. How do you top such present?  Diddy decided to stay conservative and gave Justin yet another Maybach the next year. Because them fancy cars get old fast, right?

Ghostface Killah

Bought: Multiple chains

When you’re trying to rule the dangerous lanes of the hip-hop world you go hard on swag or go home, and the meaty chain is a total must. No one knows this better than Ghostface Killah, who famously dropped $50,000 on an enormous custom-made Versace plate. And that doesn’t even include the golden chain.

Tyga

Bought: Tomb

Step away, Lara Croft — there’s a new Tomb Raider in town and he goes by the name of Tyga. You read that one right: the rapper did buy a $20,000 Egyptian tomb to install it inside his boutique “Last Kings” on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. We have to give it to him, them Egyptians were pretty slick cats when it came to priding their opulent ways.

MC Hammer

Bought: Marble floors

It’s been a while (to put it mildly) since MC Hammer dropped a proper hit. But he surely did drop tons of cash money on some fine Italian marble floors in his swanky mansion. And these were just the tip of the million-dollar iceberg of cash he spent on building the house of his dreams. Too bad it also landed him a less-than-sweet court case for unpaid taxes.
