Top 5 Tour Announcements of the Week

This week, Primus, Wilco and Maxwell reveal summer tour plans, while Phish extends their Baker's Dozen run by several stops. Plus, Phoenix announce their first tour in three years. Here's who we're most excited to see hit the road.

 

Phish Summer Tour Dates

Phish already announced plans for their Baker's Dozen tour, which saw them performing 13 shows at Madison Square Garden this summer, and now they've tacked on a few more. The jam band perform in Chicago, Ohio and Pennsylvania leading up to their NYC residency, plus the usual three-night Dick's run over Labor Day weekend. Click here for more info

 

Primus Summer Tour Dates



The Les Claypool-fronted Primus have announced their summer plans. Starting on May 15 in Boulder, CO, at the Fox Theater, catch them all throughout the US including slots at Rock on the Range and Summer Camp. They'll spend the month of June overseas for festival gigs in Europe before returning stateside until August 18. The Claypool Lennon Delirium and Clutch will be on tap as support for varying dates. Phoenix North American Tour



French rockers Phoenix are hitting the road for the first time in three years. After previously announced appearances at Shaky Knees, Governors Ball and Field Trip festivals, catch them from May 12 to September 30, kicking off with a show at the Fillmore in Miami. Whitney, The Lemon Twigs and Miike Snow will act as support for varying dates, which extends until June 15 at the Hollywood Bowl. Phoenix will spend the second half of the year overseas. Wilco June Tour

The pride of Chicago, Wilco, have announced a series of June concerts. The shows will lead up to Solid Sound, a festival created, curated and headlined by the band. The summer run kicks off on June 7 in Rochester Hills, MI, at the Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, followed by stops in Pittsburgh, Louisville and Indianapolis. They'll also perform at this year's Jazz Fest in May, plus Eaux Claires on June 16. Click here for more info.


Maxwell Summer Tour



In support of his most recent album, blackSUMMERS'night, neo-soul singer Maxwell has announced a short summer tour. He'll be joined by Common and Ledisi on the first two stops, which begin on May 23 at Nashville's Birdgestone Arena. Also coming along for varying dates is Leela James, who will join Maxwell for the bulk of shows through the South and Midwest. The final stop takes place on June 23 at Valley View Casino Arena in San Diego. Click here for more info.
