While there are still many who are reeling over Drake's latest, More Life, the Toronto rapper just had to drop it on his own terms and not wait till Friday like everyone else. So while we can't deny that it's a good record, we do call this New Music Friday. So to be fair, we picked five records that are also great and released today. First, there's Trey Songz's new collection of tracks, Tremaine the Album. Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors and Will Johnson release their new albums, Souvenir and Hatteras Night, A Good Luck Charm. Then Daye Jack gives us his newest material on No Data. And finally The Voice alum RaeLynn finally releases her debut album, WildHorse.
Find out more about this week's Top 5 New Album Releases below.
'Tremaine The Album' - Trey Songz
If there is anyone who can make a woman feel weak in the knees with his vocals and lyrics, it's Trey Songz. He's sold millions of records with party hits like "Say Aah" and "Bottoms Up," as well as swoon-worthy songs like "Na Na" and "Can't Help But Wait." And now he's back his latest offering, Tremaine the Album.
As we've heard from his past work, most of his songs have centered on one big topic: women. Whether it's making love with that special admirer in "#1 Fan" or just getting down and dirty with "The Sheets...Still," he is one hell of a Casanova throughout the record. And while some think twice about the player type, ladies can't help but be enticed by a bad boy, especially if he's going serenade you with a sweet tune called "Priceless." No doubt will this be another winner for Trey Songz fans, but it will also be a great addition to anyone who wants to add some romance to the bedroom.
'Souvenir' - Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors
Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors may be a little bit more country compared to Trey, but that doesn't mean that the Tennessee band doesn't know how to croon with the best of them. If you want a little less bass and some more guitar-driven melodies, then their new record, Souvenir is the perfect record for you.
Opening with "The Morning Song," you instantly feel like you're floating on a cloud. Their combination of Americana and classic rock, like on "Fight for Love" and "Mama's Sunshine, Daddy's Rain," makes the whole record a warm one you can enjoy on a cool summer night. Even on the acoustic "Wild World," the vintage sound to the vocals and melodies show Americana music at its finest.
'WildHorse' - RaeLynn
While RaeLynn has been entertaining audiences since she was on the second season of The Voice, as well as on the road with mentor Blake Shelton, the young country star is finally giving us a debut album.
Entitled WildHorse, the collection 12 songs covers the experiences growing up in life and love. As she previously mentioned to us, RaeLynn isn't afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve and be as truthful as possible. With songs like her single, "Love Triangle," she goes through the various stages of love. Meanwhile, "Lonely Call" addresses that ex that only acts like he wants you when he feels like it but is ready to drop you when he's happy with his life. Then on "Young," featuring Leeland Mooring, she sees that the world is a much bigger place and that she's ready to explore it and gain new experiences.

'Hatteras Night, A Good Luck Charm' - Will Johnson
Will Johnson may have opened his new album, Hatteras Night, A Good Luck Charm, with an acoustic track, "Childress (To Ogden)," but he shows where he can push that singer-songwriter envelope with "Every Single Day of Late" and the free-flowing "Filled with a Falcon's Dreams." "Heresy and Snakes" is a dark rock track while "Milaak" is mid-tempo tune that may seem to go along the same path but Will's vocals softens it a bit.
Each of his songs highlight a particular character and story like "Ruby Shameless," a prostitute who he celebrates instead of looks down on. Between the beautiful melodies and realistic storytelling, Will Johnson's record will take us on a fun journey through the lives of some interesting people.
'No Data' - Daye Jack
Georgia has been know for the Dirty South hip-hop that centered around Atlanta with acts like Jermaine Dupri, Yin Yang Twins and Lil Jon setting the tone on the sound. However, despite the party vibe and gritty beats, more artists have moved a more melodic sound that artists like Andre 3000 and Big Boi put forth. And Daye Jack is part of this new class of hip-hop artists who are not just relying on that bass and bringing rounded out tracks to our ears.
While he's dropped music for a few years now, the 21-year-old's No Data proves to show not only his talent for handle on lyrics but also bring us music messages. Considering that he's a product of this generation, there's a lot more incorporation of that digital vibe and sound, which you get on the opening title track. But the fun thing about what Jack does is that as fresh as his sounds are the flow still has that throwback feel to it like on "Casino" and "Finish Line." He also makes sure to add substance to the record with his track, "Bully Bully," which also brings in some electro-pop elements that will instantly get you moving. There's something very familiar about No Data but spruced up for today's ears.
